Suzzette Ortiz is a passionate pianist, composer, choral conductor, and educator whose musical journey began in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and flourished in Pennsauken, New Jersey. As a performer, she has graced stages throughout the tri-state area and internationally, sharing the stage with legends like Tito Puente and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Her studies with renowned musicians and performances at festivals in Cuba, Venezuela, and Bolivia reflect a career rooted in both excellence and cultural richness. Ortiz’s compositions and recordings have been recognized globally, including a Latin Grammy-nominated album with Orquesta La Paz.

A dedicated educator, Ortiz served for 27 years as vocal director at Camden’s Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, where she led students to win national and international choral competitions. She holds degrees in piano performance and education, with additional studies at Juilliard and workshops with Bobby McFerrin. Now retired from public education, she continues to teach, compose, and promote social change through music. Her upcoming memoir will share insights from her teaching career, and she now also offers healing music as a certified music practitioner. Ortiz’s choral works are published widely, marking her as a transformative force in both performance and music education.
