Marie Stultz

Marie Stultz has devoted her life to the training of young singers in the classics. A published composer as well as the author of Innocent Sounds: Building Choral Tone and Artistry in Your Children's Choir A Personal Journey, she is a leading authority on training treble voices. She has created an extensive choral literature project for the Choral Excellence Series based in Waitsfield, VT. Choral Literature for Treble Voices: Your Guide to the World's Finest Choral Literature includes both a book and on-going website containing an extensive annotated bibliography. Stultz also edits the Innocent Sounds for Treble Chorus choral series for MorningStar Music Publishers. She has been the choral researcher at Spectrum Music in Lexington, MA for over 25 years and has been writing a quarterly new-release newsletter, The Choral Room, since the summer of 1991. She is the Founder of three major arts organizations in the greater Boston area; The Treble Chorus of New England, The Young Opera Company of New England, and The Young Classical Singers. Stultz has receives commissions, including choral music with orchestra and chamber works that have been performed worldwide. She has written numerous articles and has received an ASCAP recognition award every year since 1996.

In June of 2002, she received the Teacher Recognition Award from the Presidential Scholars Program and the National Department of Education. Stultz just recently received her second citation from the Massachusetts State Senate in recognition of her contribution to the arts. In 2006, she presented at the ACDA Eastern and Southern Division Conventions and conducted the Georgia All State Middle School Girls Honor Choir. In 2008, she presented at the Texas Music Educators Conference and made her first National ACDA appearance in Miami, Florida. She has made many guest conducting appearances throughout the US and in Europe and conducts her Symposium Workshops worldwide. Her opera Summer Vocal Academy made its debut at Jordan Hall in the summer of 2010 in partnership with The New England Conservatory Preparatory Division. Her most recent appearance was in Maine January 2011 conducting the Honors High School Treble Chorus. A member of the Andover Rotary Club, she has been recently recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow, an international award for service to the community and the world.
