Commissioned for the 1999 Papal mass in St. Louis. This Cathedral Series setting may be used at any time outside the Lenten season. In its simplest form, it can be performed with only assembly, cantor, and keyboard. SATB parts and optional instrumentation add festivity to the composition. Seven verses drawn from the Lectionary are provided, each focusing on some aspect of the Word of God. This anniversary edition includes a tone for chanting appointed verses; all else is retained from original edition and is compatible with the full score and instrumentation. Reproducible refrain is included.
