Donald Rotermund

Donald Rotermund

b. 1932

Donald Rotermund, Minister of Music Emeritus, Zion Lutheran Church, Dallas, Texas, leads workshops, writes, and continues some composing. He has served the Dallas Chapter of the AGO as Dean and Sub-Dean, on the Executive Committee, and on a number of its special committees. Mr. Rotermund has also served as vice president and advisory board member of the Dallas Bach Society.

His choral, organ, and instrumental settings have been released by a number of publishers, including MorningStar Music, whose catalog includes his four volumes of Introductions, Interludes, and Codas on Traditional Hymns for use throughout the church year. He has written many articles for professional journals and church publications, along with several books.

Rotermund's undergraduate degree and Doctor of Letters (hon.) are from Concordia University, Chicago, and his Master's degree was conferred by the University of North Texas. He and his wife Doris have two children, Deborah and David, and six grandchildren.
