Tom Merrill

Tom Merrill works for ExperiencePoint, a leading innovation training company based in Toronto, Canada. An active composer and conductor, he finds that his formal training in music offers a unique perspective into creativity, human centered design, and innovation. He currently serves as the Director of Music at the Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati and as the national Secretary and Treasurer for the American Choral Directors Association. Formerly, he was Professor of Music at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Merrill holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His research interests lie in the Jesuit inspired compositions of Marc-Antoine Charpentier. His edition of Charpentier’s motet, In Honorem Sancti Xaverij canticum (H. 355) is published by the Society for Seventeenth Century Music.
