Maureen Howell is Organist at First Baptist Church, Raleigh, North Carolina, where she works with her husband, Warren Howell, Minister of Music. A native of Virginia, Maureen is a graduate of The College of William and Mary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She enjoys keyboard, instrumental, and choral arranging, creating fresh settings of familiar hymns. She finds joy in accompanying choirs, soloists, and congregations. In 2009, American Public Media’s Pipedreams featured her live performances of St. John’s Suite (premiere performance of a commissioned work from Dan Locklair) and Richard Purvis’ Carol Rhapsody. Maureen and Warren have two children, Clara and Andrew (1990-2010).
