Nancy Grundahl
b. 1946
Nancy Grundahl is the conductor of four choirs in the Minneapolis area: Angelica Cantanti Concert Choir (youth choir), Angelica Cantanti Encore (adult alumni and parent choir), Riverside Singers of Augsburg College (women's choir) and Mayflower Church Adult Choir. Over seventy of her compositions and arrangements for these treble and mixed choirs (some of them commissioned pieces) have been published and performed around the country.
Nancy's work with choirs draws upon her experience as a solo singer and voice teacher. Before becoming immersed in choral music, she taught voice exclusively, and as a soprano soloist, appeared in recitals and concerts throughout the area. Her exploration of vocal techniques for expressive singing is a focus of her teaching, conducting and composing.
Active as a choral clinician and guest conductor, Nancy has had the pleasure of conducting several state and regional ACDA honors choirs throughout the Midwest, as well as guest conducting the National Lutheran Choir, the Masterworks Chorale of Augsburg College and the Singers in Accord.
Nancy holds undergraduate and graduate vocal performance degrees from St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota.
