Mitchell Covington

b. 1959

Mitchell Covington is an award-winning composer, arranger and conductor, working in the San Francisco Bay Area. His music includes works for orchestra, chorus, stage, film and television. He has led the six-choir music program at First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley for more than 20 years. His choirs regularly perform public concerts with orchestra and have toured throughout Europe. Mr. Covington also teaches music theory and composition at the Academy or Art University in San Francisco. He holds bachelor's degree in Composition from California State University, San Francisco and a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Southern California. Mitchell lives in Pleasant Hill, California with his wife, Laurel and their dog, Chester.
