Paul Gibson has taken the well-known choral piece Rejoice in the Lord always (Anon. 16th century) and done something wonderfully unexpected with it. He assigned the entire piece to a Chorus 1 part, and added a newly composed Chorus 2 part in the style of that era to create an eight-part piece! His setting is also very versatile in that the Chorus 2 part may be performed in any one of three ways: as an organ reduction, as a brass quartet transcription (two C trumpets, tenor trombone and bass trombone), and as an SATB chorus.
