These editions of Mooney's beautiful arrangements of Irish folksongs include original texts, some in English and some in Irish Gaelic. Those in Irish Gaelic are not meant to be sung in English and include the original text with an Irish translation and IPA guides in the front matter; in the body of the music a singing transliteration is provided underneath the original language. Instrumental parts are available separately.
Mooney's stunning choral arrangements are sung regularly in Ireland and the UK. Recordings of his works are featured on Scenes of an Irish Christmas and Ireland's Voices for Peace (both on Viking Records) and a third CD entitled CÓR, featuring his arrangements sung by the Celtic Ayres Chamber Choir and the Radio-Television Ireland. CÓR is now available at ARSIS AUDIO.
