Ellen Gilson Voth

A native of New Jersey, Ellen Gilson Voth (b.1972) brings a broad background as pianist, organist, choral conductor and educator to her work as an arranger and composer. She received her Bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and her Master’s degree from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey.

In addition to several positions in school districts and churches throughout the Northeast, Voth has served on the faculty of the Ithaca College School of Music in Ithaca, New York. She has also served on the faculty of the Csehy Summer School of Music in Langhorne, Pennsylvania and the Masterworks Festival in Winona Lake, Indiana.

Various compositions in her oeuvre have been commissioned and performed by churches and educational institutions nationwide.

Currently, Voth is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the Hartt School (University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut) and is a member of the Hartt School Community Division faculty. She serves on the board of the Connecticut chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and is a frequent adjudicator and guest clinician.
