PREFACE

All of us who work with small choirs come up against similar problems:

too few tenors to balance the other sections of the choir
too many tenors who are really baritones
a tenor or bass section in which only one person reads music confidently
certain Sundays in the year (usually important ones!) when more than half the tenors and basses have obligations out of town

One of the best solutions to these problems is to utilize music for three voices. However, there is a limited supply of quality music for SAB choir.

The staff at ECS Publishing has been sensitive to this situation for several years and thus decided to launch this new series. The Somerset Anthem Books consist of new SAB compositions by established contemporary composers, as well as SAB arrangements of well-known favorites.

Each volume includes a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of great stylistic variety ranging from simple to mildly challenging, at an affordable price
